Review: The Plumeria Lounge Honolulu Airport (HNL)
May 5th, 2018
I must admit that I was quite surprised and happy when I found out that there was an intra-island terminal Priority Pass affiliated lounge (that was a mouthful) within Honolulu International Airport. I was even happier when we showed up and found ourselves being the first ones there. Then again, it was 9 o’clock on a Thursday morning so I can’t say that I was expecting a long lineup.
The Plumeria Lounge is located on the third floor of the Honolulu International Airport, Interisland Terminal, near the Wiki Wiki shuttle pick up area.
The Plumeria Lounge within Honolulu International Airport was rather awesome if I do say so myself. Maybe it was the fact that it was pretty much empty the entire time with only a handful of other gusts there. Given the fact it was dead inside, we pretty much took over one corner of the lounge which had a giant sectional couch. This proved to be great for the little one to run around and for us as well to house some luggage and the stroller without impeding on other guests space.
The food offering was rather limited in the way of hot items, but it did feature a bunch of snack type foods such as little sandwiches, bags of chips, granola bars, fruit, miso soup, instant noodle bowls, biscotti and tons of veggies.
Alongside the eats, was a wine station (yes they were serving wine at 9am), a few mini fridges with milk and other beverages such as Maui Brewing Company Beer (which oddly enough wasn’t being served since that fridge was locked), a fountain drink dispenser and lastly a super-automatic espresso machine with all the bells and whistles.
We definitely helped ourselves to the offerings and few delicious shots of espresso and packed a few things away to take with us as well. I even helped myself to a couple glasses of wine on a dare. It was 9am but I wasn’t too worried – we were on vacation in Hawaii after all!
We spent a good hour and a bit there before heading off to our nearby gate and I must say, it was a rather relaxing time spent. The Plumeria Lounge was definitely a treat and a fantastic way to pass the time in comfort – I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a quite place to hang out. It’s got loads of comfortable seating as well as food and drinks to help get you by before your quick inter-island flight.
Next stop, Hilo!
